Guaranteed gains with the 5-axes machining centre Breton Contourfive + lathe!

Breton Contourfive NC 700
Hello,
If you're looking for a 5-axes machining center with its own lathe to produce columns, capitels, vases, sculpture and architectural pieces for restauration work?
You've come to the right place!
The Breton Contourfive is a machining centre with 5 interpolated axes specifically designed for workshops producing pieces made from natural and engineered stone.

It is ideal for restauration work.
Breton Contourfive NC 1000

Thanks to its vertical travel of 700/1000/1200mm (27.6/39.4/47.2"), Breton Contourfive is the ideal machine for architectural and funerary art as well as for those processing which require a deep dishing out; it therefore offers the users the possibility of performing different and complex machining operations which would otherwise require several machines:
• shaping utilising the saw blade to get large pieces with complex shape.
shaping and dishing out utilising millers.
contouring utilising shaping tools.
sawing utilising the saw blade.
turning of columns with shaped profiles or machining of columns to create a twisted effect all along the surface (provided the lathe accessory is purchased)
.
Breton Contourfive NC 1200

Today in fact, after putting together some photographic material, I wanted to show you the rich range of applications the Contourfive + lathe offers for natural stone, marble, granite, engineered stone and limestone, etc
.

The Breton Contourfive 5 axis CNC stone working centre's lathe can turn workpieces with the following dimensions:

Bonelli Graniti chooses Breton Smart-Cut 800 CNC bridge saw for its production

In the imaginary voyage between the Italian marble and granite trails it's hard to resist stopping off at Bonelli Graniti, in Fiesse in the province of Brescia

Bonelli is a company formed of excellent minds, skills and ideas, operating as a consolidated manufacturer and producing articles of exceptionally creativity since 1972.
To make products like the items shown in the photos clearly requires the skills of master stonemasons, but it also calls for machinery with unique characteristics, like the Breton Smart-Cut 800 bridge saw.
Click on the photo to see the realization
This machine combines the creative goals of Breton and Bonelli Graniti, fine-tuned under the aegis of innovation and exquisitely Italian engineering excellence.
The Brescia company produces superbly sophisticated works in marble and granite in its workshops for both urban furniture and modern architectural projects
.
Its distinctive feature however is its absolute mastery in engraving and funerary art

From granite slabs to finely crafted headstones and bas-reliefs:  Bonelli can exploit the full potential of the Smart-Cut 800, a bridge saw with a rotating head having 5 interpolated axes.
Click on the photo to see the realization
It makes no difference whether we call this machining centre a CNC milling machine or a shaping machine

- the table is fixed and the head rotates from 0° to 380° and can be tilted from 0 to 90°.
- The head can be equipped with ISO 40 attachment tools, allowing the use of mills and core drills
- And it's extremely easy to use thanks to a clear and intuitive human-machine interface.
- Ideal for all types of machining process, both for the production of small batches and large series, and for simple machining steps or highly complex shaping operations.
- The machine's engraving capabilities using a specific engraving tool allow it to produce authentic works of art, and it is precisely in this type of machining operation that Smart-Cut 800 displays its full potential.
The photos speak for themselves.
These complex objects would normally require the use of multiple machines:
- sawing of slabs and blocks to create workpieces,
- shaping of blocks with a disk cutter to obtain geometrically complex parts
- shaping and routing with milling tools
.

The solution? Breton Smart-Cut 800

NEW ADDITION! Automatic chamfer for tiles of various size with Breton bridge saws Smart-Cut

All Breton bridge saws Smart-Cut machines can be equipped with a new function allowing the chamfering of rectangular tiles before cutting them to measure.

When equipped with this accessory, Smart-Cut will pick up a suitable disc shaped chamfering tool from the tool magazine, measure the thickness of the slab with the same device used first to cut the grooves and then machine the chamfer to the required depth from 0.5 to 3mm.
This is an extremely useful option when working with panels of different sizes.

Manual chamfering would otherwise be the only alternative.

SMART-CUT DUO a powerful and flexible cutting line

Breton has patented a new machine: Smart-Cut DUO - innovative optimized cutting center for high productivity with two heads and two beams.
The Smart-Cut DUO is Breton's new integrated cutting line: a concentrated package of productivity, flexibility and innovation.
Equipped with two mounted parallel beams, each including a cutting spindle and suction cups for optimization, the Smartcut Duo is completely unique in its class.

The flexibility of this machine consists of the fact that it can work with two beams simultaneously or with a single beam. This model has a powerful software optimizer that ensures precision on the slab surface area, allowing a simple or a complex cutting cycle and a vertical or 45° cut.

Smart-Cut DUO is powerful because it can provide up to 80% higher productivity compared to a conventional single disc machine.

Smart-Cut DUO with an anthropomorphic robot

Smart-Cut DUO outfeed can be equipped with an anthropomorphic robot which can unload the cut slabs automatically without the supervision of an operator.
All of this is possible thanks to our privileged partnership with Optidrive, a company specialized in the development of systems with Kuka robots
The first machine connected to a Kuka robot will be installed at Renier in Aarschot, Belgium, a technological leader in the natural stone processing industry.

"We're convinced that the future of the natural stone processing market will be played out on the reduction of wastage, optimization of machining operations, production efficiency, and reduced human intervention in the process.

The Smartcut Duo cutting line developed by Breton, coupled to an unloading robot, is the clear winning solution that will allow our company to pursue this strategy".

Italian products always win!

With experience, great designers and top minds, motorbikes and machinery.

Encapsulating Italian-made goods in a single piece of work is no easy task. Three Italian companies – Ducati, Odone Marmi and Breton – have come together to create “Fortitudo mea in levitate” (“Lightness is my strength”).

Ducati (Ducati Motor Holding S.p.A.)
Italy’s most world-famous motorcycle manufacturer. A company that still amazes us, even after 90 years, with its products of peerless style and performance.

Design
Uniqueness
Craftsmanship
Attention to detail
Technology
 Italian verve

Odone Marmi
Master stone and marble workers since 1950, from planning and design through to production and installation.

Breton
Research, innovation and technology in machines for working marble, granite and natural and engineered stone.

What is Fortitudo mea in levitate”?
It is a sculpture in white Carrara marble designed by Gianandrea Fabbro, Chief Designer at the Ducati Style Centre, depicting one of the company’s most recognisable models, the Panigale
His refined designer’s pencil has given the world the Panigale 1199 and 1299 and now this splendid marble sculpture, an award-winner at Milan Design Week 2015. It was made by Odone Marmi using a Breton Shapemill.

The work was displayed in central Milan for over a week in April, drawing huge admiring crowds outside Audi City Lab in Via Monte Napoleone, at the pulsating heart of the city’s fashion district.

Many people wondered how this gem of technology and craftsmanship could have been made. Today’s machining centres with 5 interpolated axes can create highly complex forms with different materials, including marble and granite, to bring designers’ creativity to life.

The most innovative Italian workshops, such as Angelo Odone’s, choose this kind of machine to turn marble and granite blocks into unique objects, avant-garde furnishing pieces, and veritable works of art.
The Vercelli-based company produced the sculpture for Ducati

Fortitudo mea in levitate” could only have been made using a Breton Shapemill, the "Ducati" of 5-axis machining and shaping centres for marble and granite, the queen of speed and precision. This machining centre’s impressive performance supports multiple work processes that would otherwise require several machines. Working with various tools, it can mill, turn and perform routing through its shaped tools.

Here is the official video:

The Ducati designer and his design, the Odone Marmi factory’s trademark craftsmanship, and Breton technology are the ingredients in a breathtaking work that emphasises the contrast between the lightness of the forms and the weight of the hefty Carrara marble blocks.

In other words, it is a true celebration of Italian-made excellence.

That’s all for today.
Thank you for reading.
Until next time.
Bye-bye.

The company Marbres&Design chooses "COMBICUT" for its workpieces

Below the highest peak of Europe, Mont Blanc, lies Saint Felix, a town belonging to the French region Rhône-Alpes where one of the most cutting-edge French stone-working companies is located.

Marbres&Design core business is the production of marble, granite, slate and engineered stone for interiors. Aiming specifically to improve its performance, some months ago, the transalpine enterprise integrated its machines with a Breton Combicut bridge-saw, which combines diamond disc and Waterjet cutting.
The group’s gem is its kitchen worktop production range. The main aim of Marbres&Design was to speed-up production and save in wasted material to be able to provide its customers with more and more complex finishes, processing a same granite slab, Dekton or Silestone, with inclined and angled cuts.

Kitchen manufacturers are always on the lookout for excellent tops, in terms of style and function, which must be very appealing but also very resistant, so it is not so simple for marble masons to satisfy their needs. The designs become more and more sophisticated, with rounded and squared shapes that cannot be cut with conventional mills. This is why a combined cutting station is a must.

We were looking for a multipurpose machine and we certainly found it” said the owner of the company, Benoit Fleury together with Christophe Rubin. “We are satisfied because Breton’s Combicut has really speeded up our production, also thanks to the worktop change-over accessory” Mr. Rubin confirmed. “The cutting quality is always the same, whether we are processing marble or granite. We are also processing porcelain, ceramic and quartz slabs more and more often”.
The cutting unit of the Combicut (cutting spindle with disc and Waterjet head) turns around its A axis by ±190° (4th axis): the advantages for its owners are many and precision and cutting speed benefit too.

As Christophe Rubin explained, Marbres&Design has configured its Breton Combicut with the innovative automatic worktop change-over system. While the machine is cutting one slab, another slab ready for cutting can be prepared outside the machine, by programming the cutting pattern exactly. Once one worktop has been cut, it automatically changes-over the slabs to be processed, thus guaranteeing increased production rates.

We’ll get back to you promptly.
Thank you for the attention and best regards.
